Behind the Scenes

Governance

As well as having a great team of people, we recognise it is important to have appropriate governance structures in place. So we were delighted in September 2005 when Paul Frampton joined the Moana board as Chairman.  Moana currently has three directors who guide the strategic direction of the company.

Paul Frampton, Chairman

Paul is a qualified accountant and has a strong background in strategic planning, treasury management, banking relationships, management accounting and process improvement.  He has many years experience as a management consultant and was managing partner of Deloitte Consulting.  Paul has been a director of a number of companies in the public and private sectors. His broad-based business experience, independence from the day to day operation of the company and knowledge of governance is seen as invaluable to moving Moana further along its development path.

Scott MacLachlan, Managing Director

Scott qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in Wellington and later worked for them in London. He has a strong process and systems focus.  His experience of consulting, business case development and implementation has contributed to Moana’s current success.  As well as having overall operational responsibility for the company, he focuses on sales, finance and logistics.

Paula MacLachlan, Technical Director and Founding Director

Paula worked as a recruitment consultant in the competitive post 1987 London market.  She then completed a fashion design course in the UK which fuelled her love for garments and design.  Paula decided to focus on developing a business where she could combine some of her design skills with her sales skills.  Paula’s primary focus is design and production/supply.
